Popular science tourism: the first participants are waiting in the Kaliningrad region
The press service of the Governor of the Kaliningrad region reports that the first participants of the popular science tourism program are waiting for the beauty of the Curonian Spit and the laboratory of the research vessel Vityaz.
Kaliningrad region is among the pilot regions of Russia for the development of popular science tourism for young people. The new program will begin on November 15 as part of the Decade of Science and Technology. On the same day, the first group of participants arrived in Kaliningrad.
Governor Anton Alikhanov: I am glad that the Kaliningrad region is launching a popular science tourism program in Russia. I consider the new program a very important and necessary initiative, which will become especially popular among young people. After all, it is possible to really interest young people and involve them in science only using a non-standard, exciting approach. The development of science is our future, and the basis of any science is people who really burn with their work.”
The region is rapidly developing as a popular tourist center among compatriots, which can offer various leisure destinations. Participants of the first group, which are schoolchildren and students - winners and finalists of competitions and Olympiads of the ANO "Russia - the country of opportunities" and the Russian society "Knowledge", will be offered an interesting and extensive program.
The program for the development of popular science tourism was developed on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin following a meeting of the State Council and the Council for Science and Education.
The program is available for participants of the project "More than a journey" and students - participants will be able to visit unique scientific sites of our country.
A free trip to the winners of the contests of the platform “Russia is a country of opportunities” is possible at the expense of the national project “Tourism and hospitality industry”. The trips are planned according to the certificates of the project “More than travel”.
