Named the busiest international airport in the world
Incheon (Seoul), South Korea) for the first time topped the ranking of the busiest international airports: in the first half of 2026, it served 38.4 million passengers. In second place is Heathrow (37.8 million), in third – Changi (34.5 million).
Incheon’s position has significantly strengthened: from 10th place in 2002, he rose to 3rd in 2025, and in 2026 he became the leader. At the same time, Dubai airport fell out of the top 3 due to the reduction of flights amid the hostilities in the Middle East: for example, in March passenger traffic fell to 2.5 million (versus 7.4 million in February), and by June recovered only to 4.7 million.
Incheon passenger traffic in January-June grew by 18% in the transit segment, while Heathrow was unable to significantly increase volumes due to high load.
