“New Year’s capital of Russia” 2023/2024 will be Suzdal
Snowflake - a symbol of the project "New Year's capital of Russia" - in Novosibirsk will be transferred to representatives of the city suzdalIt will become the New Year capital of Russia in 2023-2024.
Novosibirsk received the official status of the “New Year’s Capital of Russia” on January 9, 2022 from Nizhny Novgorod, and with it a snowflake made by Nizhny Novgorod masters in the technique of the Cossack filigree.
The snowflake, the symbol of the project, is handed over to the next New Year’s capital every year. Novosibirsk will give Suzdal an interactive snowflake – it will be created by the citizens themselves. In the city center there are screens that every Novosibirsk citizen could touch in December and January and get a unique snowflake.
The transfer of the snowflake to representatives of the city of Suzdal will take place on the day of the All-Russian festival of bell ringing on the Ob embankment, which will bring together masters of bell ringing art from all over the country.
The New Year Capital of Russia project has been implemented by the Russian Ministry of Culture since 2012. Its main goal is the development of event tourism in the country and the growth of tourist flow to different cities and regions of the country.
