Published a list of countries with dates of opening borders for travelers

Many European countries have begun discussing the possibility of opening up to tourists.

Most of the resort countries are among the optimists, calling the summer months - from June to August - as the opening time. Pessimists are pushing the opening time to 2021.

British journalists (The Sun) compiled the statements of the authorities and consolidated them into a single list:

Turkey plans to open to foreign tourists in late July and August. Minister of Tourism Mehmed Ersoy believes that the hotels will work by the end of June, then “the first tourists can meet”, but the country will be able to open en masse only in August.

The UAE also expects July, at least in Dubai.

Experts in France believe that tourists will not be able to return to the country until 2021.

Spain is generally optimistic, expecting to open in June for local and in July-August for inbound tourism. However, different territories give different estimates. Mallorca is expected to open by July and is in talks with German tour operators. The Canary Islands expect to receive foreign tourists from November.

Italy is on the optimist side. Bars and cafes plan to earn from June 1, and the admission of foreigners expect by July, but it will affect only tourists from the Schengen zone.

Greece expects tourists to return in June. “Our goal is for the season to start in July and possibly last until October or November,” said Tourism Minister Harry Theoharis. The hotels are scheduled to open in June, first for local tourists.

Cyprus expects to receive tourists in June. We are talking about tourists from relatively “clean” coronavirus countries of the European Union – Germany, Switzerland, Austria.

Bulgaria hopes to open its borders to tourists in July, "at worst" in August.

In Portugal, the Algarve, they fear they won’t see tourists until 2021. Until then, the resort industry can rely only on domestic tourism, which will clearly not be enough.

Montenegro plans to open in June (National Tourism Organization (NTOCG) reports).
