The first year-round resort is being built on the shore of Lake Baikal
The resort will be built in the tourist cluster "Taltsy" on the Baikal tract near Irkutsk in the framework of the joint project with Buryatia "Magic Baikal" (part of the federal project "Five seas and Lake Baikal").
The emergence of a new resort on Lake Baikal on the basis of the principle of “zero pollution” was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin in a message to the Federal Assembly.
In the Taltsy tourist cluster on the shore of the Irkutsk reservoir, it is planned to place hotels for 3,5 thousand rooms, a water park, a marina for parking 450 yachts, as well as create a network of tourist routes. The total investment in the project exceeds 40 billion rubles. It is expected that by 2035 the tourist cluster will be able to receive more than 850 thousand people per year.
The project should become an alternative to the village of Listvyanka on the shore of Lake Baikal, where tourists from Irkutsk and other regions often travel.
Now "Taltsy" is an architectural and ethnographic museum, where buildings of the Ilim Fortress were brought, which fell into the flood zone of the Ust-Ilimsky reservoir, and other monuments from the Irkutsk region. "Taltsy" works all year round and, taking into account the constant cultural events held there, attracts a large number of people.
