Phuket Sandbox: from July 1, the resort will begin to accept tourists with vaccinations without quarantine
Thai authorities have decided to open the island of Phuket to covid-vaccinated tourists from July 1, and quarantine will not be required.
According to the plan, 70% of the inhabitants of the island will receive herd immunity, and foreigners with vaccinations will be able to rest on the island without quarantine.
If the approved plan, called Phuket Sandbox, is successful, these rules will eventually apply to other tourist areas of the country, and other regions will be available from October 1.
When entering Thailand, foreign tourists must present a vaccination certificate, a cove passport or an IATA Travel Pass. For tourists, the requirement to carry a negative PCR test will remain relevant.
From April 1, the quarantine for those who entered the country will be reduced: from 14 to 10 days, for those vaccinated – to 7. The vaccination must be given no later than two weeks and no earlier than 3 months before entering the state.
