The government will subsidize preferential tariffs for long-distance trains for families with children
The decree on the rules for subsidizing the new program was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
“Families with children traveling in Russia will be able to buy tickets for long-distance trains at preferential rates. The State shall reimburse the difference between the normal price and the discounted price to the carriers.”
Preferential tariffs will be valid for trips in the compartment on long-distance trains of all categories.
The fare will be calculated according to a special formula - as the difference between the cost of the ticket on the chosen route in the compartment and 50% of its cost in the seat card. The ticket can be purchased in any direction.
The program is designed for independent travel and organized tours.
