The Russian government approved the bill on non-refundable tariffs in hotels
The bill will soon be submitted to the State Duma and is planned for consideration in the spring session. If accepted, non-refundable bookings can be entered along with refundable in the second half of 2025, – stated in the message.
According to the Agency, the innovation will give tourists the opportunity to choose the most suitable option, and hotels – to increase the load and profitability.
“The introduction of non-refundable bookings will take into account the best interests of customers. With a return booking, the tourist will be able to fully refund the hotel costs in case of cancellation of the trip. Non-refundable booking, in turn, will offer hotel services at a reduced price. At the same time, it remains possible to return the advance payment in case of cancellation of the trip due to illness or other serious force majeure situation, the ministry said in a statement.
Earlier, representatives of the hotel business addressed the initiative of introducing non-refundable tariffs to the Ministry of Economic Development. This initiative was included in the roadmap for the transformation of the business climate in tourism, developed on the basis of proposals from the business community and aimed at removing unnecessary regulatory restrictions for the industry.
