Russian President Vladimir Putin announces completion of single non-working period
Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered to complete a single period of non-working days in the country from May 12, 2020.
The head of state stressed that the isolation regime, which lasted more than six weeks, allowed to contain the spread of the coronavirus, but the process of lifting restrictions will be gradual, as the fight against the infection continues.
According to the president, the powers of governors to soften or tighten the measure depending on the situation in a particular region are extended.
There is also a ban on mass events. The increased safety regime is valid for citizens over 65 years of age and people with chronic diseases.
Putin noted that the exit from the restrictions regime will take considerable time, but the governors will be able to continue making decisions on supplementing, mitigating or maintaining the restrictions.
Heads of regions will be able to suspend the activities of enterprises that do not ensure compliance with sanitary safety requirements.
