President Putin calls for development of domestic tourism
Russia should pay special attention to the formation of tourism within the country, to open new directions.
This opinion was expressed on May 7 by President Vladimir Putin at a meeting on transport development.
"Now both Russia and foreign countries are preparing or are beginning to gradually withdraw from the regimes of internal restrictions, but it is quite obvious that it is impossible and even difficult to say how these processes will take place, including when and what foreign destinations will be available for our citizens to travel," Putin said.
Putin noted that decisions in the field of tourism will depend not only on Moscow, but also on decisions in other countries.
He also pointed out that transport, which was engaged in international transportation, should be reoriented to the development of domestic tourism, interregional transportation, because there are no tourist connections between the countries due to COVID-19.
On May 6, the head of Rostourism, Zarina Doguzova, said that work on a plan to restore the tourism industry after the removal of restrictions due to the coronavirus has already been almost completed. According to her, the resumption of work after the normalization of the epidemiological situation can begin with a sanatorium-resort complex, which has a medical license.
