The Imperial Route project: how will the implementation take place in Tatarstan?
The national historical and cultural tourism project “Imperial Route” is currently being implemented in 22 regions of our country thanks to the USPO Foundation with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Federal Tourism Agency.
The project was created to preserve the historical memory of the 300-year reign of representatives of the Imperial House of Romanov.
Head of the State Committee of Tatarstan on Tourism Sergey Ivanov said that the Cathedral of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, the Kazan Kremlin, the Kazan Federal University, the Engelhardt Astronomical Observatory, the island-city of Sviyazhsk and many other objects in Tatarstan should be included in the Imperial Route project.
The State Committee of Tatarstan on Tourism and the Foundation for the Promotion of the Revival of the Traditions of Charity and Charity "Elizaveta-Sergius Enlightenment Society" (ESPO) signed a license agreement on granting the Republic the right to use the trademark "Imperial Route" in November 2020.
Tatarstan Minister of Culture Irada Ayupova announced that the Kazan University, the Annunciation Cathedral on the territory of the Kazan Kremlin, the Vasily Engelhardt Astronomical Observatory claim to be included in the "Imperial Route".
The authorities hope that more people will visit the museums of the region thanks to the route.
