Travel and leisure 2026: what do tourists spend the most money on?

The Russians called accommodation the main item of travel expenses.

The study showed that 68% of Russians consider living the most expensive item on a trip. In second place – food (53%), in third – the road (49%).

29% spend significant amounts on excursions and entertainment, 11% - on shopping and souvenirs.

At the same time, 83% of Russians face unexpected expenses: 21% - on almost every trip, half - from time to time. Most often it is spending on gifts and souvenirs (41%), food (37%) and accommodation (26%).

74% of those faced with unplanned expenses spent no more than 50 thousand rubles, 18% – from 50 to 100 thousand, 7% – more than 100 thousand.

61% plan to spend no more than 100 thousand rubles per person on vacation, 21% - up to 150 thousand, 16% - more. 54% make a reserve for unexpected expenses.

69% of Russians prefer domestic tourism, 18% choose between Russia and abroad, 13% plan to vacation abroad.
