Rosaviatsia will reduce New Year charters. What will happen to the tourists?
Rosaviatsia a few days before the New Year reports a decrease in the number of charter flights abroad for the winter holidays. Azur Air will make 15% fewer charters for the New Year than previously planned, Royal Flight – 5%. Four more airlines received an order to reduce flight programs: Yakutia, Nord Wind and Saratov Airlines by 30%, Icarus by 20%.
Why was it necessary to reduce the number of flights on dates with peak demand? Representatives of Rosaviatsiya reported that the carriers could not calculate the forces - a large number of flights are planned, and there are not enough reserve aircraft. If difficulties begin, it will not work to replace the board, and flight delays will snowball. The situation is similar to the problems of the bankrupt VIM-Avia.
“In order to prevent situations of delays and cancellations of flights by airlines due to the insufficient number of aircraft and their reserve, a working group was formed in Rosaviatsiya with the participation of representatives of Rostourism,” the ministry said.
Since the beginning of this month, experts have studied the schedule and air fleet of 15 airlines, claims to six carriers: “The number of declared flights and the actual number of aircraft available will not allow airlines without compromising the regularity of passenger transportation.”
But the main number of vouchers for the New Year has already been sold, they include flights by those charters that are now in question. Is it possible that due to the reduction of flights, travelers will stay at home?
The Association of Tour Operators of the Russian Federation reassures that travelers with booking tours will not be affected. The largest market participants - Pegasus Tourist, NTC Intourist, Anex Tour - also assure that there should be enough seats on flights for everyone who has already paid for their trips.
Officials studied the officially announced flight programs, they are planned as much as possible for the New Year, and closer to the matter, experts look at sales - whether all flights are needed or parts can be abandoned. Currently, not all holiday tours are sold - in any travel agency you will be offered to wave to Thailand, Vietnam, the Emirates. The actions of Rosaviatsia may affect more of these “extra tickets”.
Some tour operators may have to combine two flights into one, so the time and/or even the day of departure may change. But without the long-awaited rest, no one will remain, according to travel companies.
