Russia: growing interest in domestic tourism
In Russia, interest in domestic tourism continues to grow – the demand for air tickets inside the country increased by 25% compared to last year.
By early spring, Russians had already begun planning their summer trips within the country, and not only to the most popular destinations. In the south of the country, the most popular regions were the Republic of Crimea, where the demand for hotels increased by 488%, and the Krasnodar Territory - the demand for hotels increased by 308%.
In addition to southern destinations, the demand for early hotel reservations for the summer increased in the Murmansk region (+389%), the Republic of North Ossetia (+381%), the Karachay-Cherkess Republic (+351%), the Republic of Karelia (+303%) and the Kamchatka Territory (+287%).
In the summer of 2024, the demand for hotels in the following areas increased by 296%. Vladimir regionby 287% in the Rostov regionby 286% in the Nizhny Novgorod and 283% in kaliningrad.
