Russia resumes charter flights to Egypt

Russia and Egypt have officially resumed charter flights, which were terminated more than 5 years ago.

On November 8, the press service of the Operational Headquarters for Combating Coronavirus Infection officially announced this news.

Charter flights between Russia and Egypt were interrupted in 2015 after the crash of the Kogalymavia aircraft flying from Sharm el-Sheikh to St. Petersburg over the Sinai Peninsula. At the same time, the principal decision on the possible restoration of charter flights was made in 2018. Later, in July of this year, President Vladimir Putin signed a decree abolishing the previously imposed ban on air travel between the two countries.

Russian tour operators note an increased demand for charter flights to Egyptian resorts. All upcoming flights will go to the African country with almost full load.
