The Russian was able to sue the airline because of a faded bouquet
In August 2016, a 47-year-old passenger had an unpleasant episode at the airport. The man planned to fly from Moscow to Yekaterinburg with a bouquet of flowers designed to congratulate his daughter on her 13th birthday.
The passenger could not get on board: vigilant employees of the carrier refused to let him without extra payment for non-standard hand luggage. The man, in turn, considered this requirement illegal, and went to the police, but did not have time for the flight – his plane flew away.
The carrier later admitted his own wrongness and offered the man a ticket for another flight, but for 14 hours of waiting for departure at the airport, the bouquet withered, so he went to court: he estimated his moral damage at 200 thousand rubles.
The court ruled in favor of the plaintiff and ruled that the airline is obliged to compensate the man 11 thousand rubles of damages, 200 thousand for moral damage, and pay a fine in the amount of 50% of the amount awarded in his favor.
