Russian ski resorts prepare to celebrate World Snow Day

The second World Snow Day will take place on January 20, 2013. This holiday was introduced at the initiative of the International Ski Federation and was first celebrated by the world in early 2012.

Famous Russian ski resorts will join the celebration; among them Shaksha (Yaroslavl), Cheremukhovo (Yekaterinburg), Beaver Log (Krasnoyarsk), Rosa Khutor (Krasnaya Polyana, Sochi), Abzakovo (Magnitogorsk) and Mountain Air (South Sakhalinsk). During the celebration, hotels operating in these resorts will become much more affordable: according to the leading Russian online hotel booking service Oktogo.ru, during the holiday, a hotel room for two will cost from 1.5 thousand rubles per night in a three-star hotel at the Ural ski resort Abzakovo and from 3 thousand rubles - at the Rosa Khutor resort in Krasnaya Polyana.

Russia is not the only country to celebrate Snow Day. Celebrations will be held at the world-famous alpine ski resorts, including Chamonix-Mont Blanc, Mejev, Cortina d’Ampezzo, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Davos, St. Moritz, Zermatt, Grindelwald, Kitzbühel, Lech, Sefeld and St. Anton am Arlberg.
