Rosturizm predicts full recovery of domestic tourism in Russia
The head of Rostourism Zarina Doguzova noted that in the first half of 2021, Russian domestic tourism was marked by almost a complete recovery of 95%.
According to the head of the department, a full restoration of domestic tourism in Russia is possible by the end of this year.
According to our data, for the first half of the year, 24.6 million people rested in the country (stayed in hotels for at least one night), which is 85% more than the same period last year and only 5% less than the precocious 2019.
In addition to 24.6 million people, another 49 million travelled non-stop in hotels.
Doguzova positively assessed the dynamics of the recovery of the tourism sector and stressed that Russian indicators exceed those of most other countries. The department is making every effort to maintain this pace.
Regions of Russia are the leaders of domestic tourism: Moscow, Krasnodar Territory, Moscow Region, St. Petersburg, Crimea, Tatarstan. Top 10 joined such regions as Altai Krai, Rostov region, Sevastopol, Chechnya, Kabardino-Balkaria and Sakhalin.
