RZD changes information on tickets
Russian railways change the information on tickets: an attempt is made to make the information more complete and visual - we are talking about pictograms that symbolize the services available to the passenger.
Misunderstanding of passengers caused the crossed-out symbol WC - not all customers of Russian Railways know what WC is, crossing out the toilet designation is puzzling. It became known that such a symbol refers to cars without a toilet, and the usual closed in parking lots and during the passage of sanitary zones.
Other pictograms: the image of pillows means that the ticket includes the use of bed linen, a spoon and a fork - food is on, crossed out snowflake - it is not known whether the air conditioning will work. The image of the footprint indicates the possibility of transporting the animal without redemption of the whole coupe. The transcript of the pictograms on the ticket form, apparently, no. Previously used verbal descriptions of services ("with laundry", "allowed transportation of animals", etc.) from the ticket disappeared.
Another innovation is to highlight in bold the most important information for the passenger (date and time of departure, train number, car, and seats in the car). However, in print this bold font is not always noticeable. Earlier, tickets were provided with information about travel time, an extra line indicating the day and time of departure, as well as an indication of local time in case it differs from the Moscow Railways.
Useful innovation - on the tickets added common names of stations when they do not coincide with the names of stations. For example, the name of the Moscow-October station is accompanied by an explanation that this is the Leningradsky railway station, the name St. Petersburg-Main - an indication that this is the Moscow railway station.
Innovations apply to tickets sold at ticket offices and printed in ticket machines. The appearance of pictograms on the forms of the so-called electronic tickets (forms of A4 format received when buying a ticket on the website of Russian Railways) is scheduled for autumn.
