From February 1, the requirement to present a QR code on trains and aircraft will come into force

The requirement to show a QR code on trains and planes will come into force from February 1, a separate government decision will determine when certificates will be required when buying tickets.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova said: In full, the certificate of the vaccinated or the extract from the certificate of the vaccinated (for travel on airplanes and trains) will begin to operate from February 1, 2022. In this case, it becomes an absolute document for the implementation or practical application of the innovations proposed by the bills.”

At the same time, she noted that “the law does not contain the date from which a rule is introduced, according to which the sale of tickets or the conclusion of a contract for carriage with a passenger is carried out upon presentation of the same document.” It is assumed that if the law is adopted, the government will issue a decision on when certificates will be required when buying tickets, the deputy prime minister said.

The bill proposed additional powers of the Ministry of Transport for what period a citizen must notify about the presence or absence of medical documentation when buying a ticket.

If a citizen has not complied with the requirements of the law, the carrier unilaterally has the right to terminate the contract and within 30 days the money is returned to him.

The validity of the document is until June 1, 2022.
