International SOS health and security experts have named Afghanistan the most dangerous country to travel in 2021.
Second place was given to Syria, followed by Libya, CAR, Iraq.
Also on the list of countries whose visit is associated with extreme risk were Mali, Somalia, Yemen, South Sudan and some regions of Pakistan, Nigeria, Ukraine and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Experts emphasize the change in the level of risk when visiting the capital of Haiti, Port-au-Prince: in 2020, it was high, and is now recognized as extreme due to the growth of banditry. Over the past year, Myanmar’s position has deteriorated: it is now a country with a high rather than medium level of danger.
