Families with children will be able to fly on subsidized tickets
The Russian government approved the rules for subsidizing preferential air transportation for families with children.
The Ministry of Transport from August will sell tickets at the appropriate special rates.
“The government has approved rules for the provision of subsidies to airlines to compensate for preferential fares for families with children. In the budget of the current year, 1.3 billion rubles were provided for this. In total, 46 interregional routes have been identified, they directly connect almost all major Russian cities - from Kaliningrad to Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said following a meeting with Deputy Prime Ministers on Monday.
The initiative of the government will allow tens of thousands of Russians to purchase tickets at fixed low prices.
“It is holiday season. I ask the Ministry of Transport to organize the work as quickly as possible. Hold a competition among airlines in order to open ticket sales at a special fare as soon as possible.
