How many Russian citizens will visit other countries this weekend?
From the end of April to May 12, it is planned that about 900,000 Russians will go abroad. This was reported on April 15 by the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR).
According to the association, tour operators note an increase in sales of foreign tours by 30% compared to last year. The main drivers of this growth are the strengthening of the ruble, the expansion of flight programs and the addition of the Vietnam to the list of destinations with direct flights.
Among the popular destinations for foreign holidays will be Turkey (45%), Egypt (20%), United Arab Emirates (11%), Thailand (5.5%) and Vietnam (4%). Also in the ranking are the Maldives. Abkhazia. Chinasea cruises and post-Soviet countries, such as Belarus. Georgia and Uzbekistan. The increase in the number of short vacations contributes to the absence of a negative background in geopolitics and a successful calendar configuration.
The association also added that the total number of trips abroad during the May holidays is expected to be more than three times less than in Russia, reaching 3.1 million.
