How many Russians are planning to travel to the border this year?
In 2021, most likely, 20-25% of Russians will choose outbound tourism, and 75-80% – domestic.
This was stated by First Vice-President of the Russian Union of Travel Industry (PCT), Chairman of the Committee of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Entrepreneurship in Tourism Yuri Barzykin.
“Turkey will undoubtedly be the leader among foreign destinations. Tanzania is not yet widely popular because of its high price and long distance.”
Barzykin noted that this summer it will be possible to go to Greece, Tunisia, Cyprus, but so far this cannot be done. If these directions open, the price may remain at the old level.
Usually, the ratio of departures of organized tourists looks like this: 31% fly abroad, 69% - domestically. Last year, 90% went to domestic destinations, 10% went abroad.”
From 1.5 to 2 million Russians will visit Cyprus, Greece, Bulgaria, Tunisia, and Egypt may open in the fall.
The head of Rostourism Zarina Doguzova previously noted that the summer tourist season this year will begin with the May holidays - a month earlier than usual. According to her, domestic tourism this year may increase by 10-15% compared to 2020.
From March 18, the third stage of sales of tours with cashback for rest in Russia begins.
