Slovenia is the first country in Europe to announce the end of the coronavirus epidemic
Slovenian authorities announced the end of the coronavirus epidemic in the country and the beginning of the abolition of restrictive measures. EU citizens were allowed to enter the country.
The Slovenian government has officially announced the end of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus epidemic in the country.
“According to the National Institute of Public Health, all indicators indicate a stabilization of the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in the population,” the report said.
This is not about the complete abolition of all quarantine measures, but some of them.
The first case of coronavirus infection in Slovenia was registered on March 4, a total of 1,464 carriers of the infection were identified in the country, 103 patients died.
TV channel Nova24TV notes that if the government did not make a decision, all restrictive measures in the country were extended for a month. Mass events will continue to be banned, social distancing, protective measures and hygiene will be maintained.
However, checkpoints will be opened at the border, where control posts will be organized. EU citizens will be able to enter Slovenia without complying with the 14-day quarantine, provided they have not left the EU in the previous two weeks and show no signs of infection.
Non-EU nationals are subject to a mandatory 14-day quarantine, with the exception of traveling on a diplomatic passport or attending a funeral.
On May 14, the European Commission said that the adopted roadmap envisages the gradual removal of restrictions on movement within the EU. In the second stage, measures at the external borders of the union can be softened.
