Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said that about 150 universities plan to take part in the student tourism program next year.
This summer, about 600 students were able to relax in other regions of Russia at affordable prices thanks to the pilot. 21 universities participated in the program, 170 excursions, events and various cultural and educational tourist programs were developed for the children, Chernyshenko said.
“Work is underway to create a programme for next year. It is planned to introduce educational components into the tour routes. In total, about 150 universities plan to take part in the student tourism program in 2022, he said.
The pilot stage of the student tourism program took place from July 15 to August 25, 2021.
The Cabinet of Ministers on behalf of the President creates a network of world-class campuses, allocates funding for the overhaul and reconstruction of dormitories and campuses.
"Thanks to this, we not only increase the comfort of learning and encourage children to engage in science, but also create even more accommodation options for students-tourists," he said.
