Thailand to extend visa-free stay for 45 days

Deputy Head of Tourism Administration Thailand (TAT) Siripakorn Chiasamut spoke about the innovations for travelers, which were planned by the authorities.

  • The visa-free stay of foreign tourists in the country for 45 days will be extended.
  • For Russians can earn electronic visas.

Previously, tourists arriving in the country without a visa could stay for 30 days. From October 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023, this period increased to 45 days, and such conditions will be extended until the end of 2023.

If Russians want to spend more than 45 days in Thailand, they must obtain a visa at the embassy in Moscow. In this case, they can stay in Thailand for 60 days with the possibility of renewal for another 30 days.

The consular fee is 1000 baht (2 thousand rubles).

The same conditions will apply to e-visas – 60 days of stay with the possibility of extension for another 30 days. They have already been introduced for citizens of 29 countries, and this year Russia may be added to them.
