Analysts analyzed hotel bookings for January, excluding the New Year holidays, and noted that 63% of orders are for foreign destinations. Turkey is second among the popular countries with a share of 6.4% (a decrease of 29%), and Italy is third with 5.7% (an increase of 21%). Also popular destinations included China (5.6%), the United Arab Emirates (5.4%), France (4.9%), Vietnam (3.7%), Spain (3.2%), Hungary (3%) and the Philippines (2.7%). Hungary saw the largest increase in interest, a 10-fold increase, while demand for travel to China and Vietnam increased four-fold and two-fold, respectively. The Philippines’ share also increased by almost a quarter.
As for domestic trips, 22.6% of tourists chose Moscow, which is 21% more than last year. Esto Sadok is in second place with 17.8% of bookings, although interest in this direction decreased by 18%. St. Petersburg closes the top three with a share of 12.8%, which is 15% more than in 2024.
The top ten popular destinations also included Sochi (9.3%), Kaliningrad (2.1%), Irkutsk (1.7%), Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk (1.6%), Yekaterinburg (1.5%), Nizhny Novgorod (1.4%) and Murmansk (1.3%). In January, the demand for travel to Sochi increased by 10%, while interest in housing in Irkutsk decreased by 15%.
