Thailand overtook Egypt for the first time

The demand for Thailand in Russia in January of this year was able to break all records. In the first month of 2011, more than one hundred and twenty thousand people visited this wonderful country, which is 40 thousand more than in the same month last year.

For the first time, the Russian market entered the group of leaders of the inbound market of Thailand with a weight share of about 7%. Russia lost only to Malaysia and China, but bypassed Japan and Korea.

Of course, the main reason for such a sharp jump was the situation in Egypt, because many tourists chose Thailand as an alternative to Egypt. But some analysts say that the number of such tourists did not exceed 5-7 thousand people in January 2011.
