Turkey lowers prices for trips to Crimea

The increase in the number of programs of tour operators in the Crimea led to a decrease in the average check and the cost of air travel.

Tourists explain that the decline in prices is caused by lower demand than last year, mainly due to competition with Turkey. Crimean hotels issue special offers, and the cost of air tickets is reasonable.

According to Kommersant, the growth of programs of tour operators and the volume of charter transportation to the Crimea reduced the average check when booking tours to the peninsula by 25%, air tickets - one and a half times.

According to online services for the sale of tours, the share of Crimea in the structure of booking tours within Russia for the summer months increased from 39% to 45%, and the Krasnodar Territory decreased from 60% to 54%.

But tour operators do not notice a radical increase in demand. We estimate the overall numbers will be slightly lower than last season. This is due to several reasons at once, including the competition of Turkey, if we talk about organized sales, says Alexei Zalivin, representative for Crimea at Biblio Globus.

In general, the sales of the tour operator are satisfied. “The only unpleasant trend is that the depth of sales is getting smaller and smaller every year. “Crimea is on par with other destinations – if Turkey’s main sales are between ten days and three weeks, why should Crimea have more?”

Supply responds to demand. The number of special offers issued by hotels in Crimea is growing, which indicates that the demand for them is limp. The cost of airfare... It is also quite moderate, not like in previous years, when the price reached 30 thousand rubles - now you can buy a ticket for 7-8 thousand round trips. ...

The expert is sure that if the Crimean direction reaches the level of 2018, it will be more than enough tourist flow. No offense to the region, but the infrastructure in Crimea is not ready to receive a huge number of tourists.
