Turkey simplifies entry rules for Russians
From June 1, new rules for entering Turkey for tourists vaccinated and ill with coronavirus, which also concern Russians, came into force.
Travelers do not need PCR tests done 72 hours before arriving in the country. Unvaccinated people also have a new option.
On June 2, the information was confirmed by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in its official directory of entry conditions, and tour operators of the Russian Federation.
What innovations (concerning Russians) came into force on June 1:
There are several options for entering Turkey from Russia:
Non-vaccinated and non-coronavirus tourists over 6 years old still need a certificate with a negative PCR test for COVID-19, made no earlier than 72 hours before arrival in Turkey. Children under 6 years of age do not need a certificate.
Instead, however, it is now possible to submit a certificate with the results of a rapid antigen test (not to be confused with antibodies!) for COVID-19, conducted no earlier than 48 hours before arrival in Turkey.
Vaccinated tourists (including the Sputnik V vaccine approved for use in Turkey) are exempt from the requirement to provide a certificate of PCR test results. Instead, you must provide a certificate of full vaccination with two doses produced no later than 14 days before entering Turkey.
Tourists who have been ill with COVID-19, who have submitted an official certificate from the health authorities of their state, issued within the last 6 months before the date of entry into Turkey and indicating that they suffered a coronavirus infection during this period, are exempt from the need to provide a certificate with a PCR test.
When entering Turkey, passengers may be subjected to selective PCR tests (e.g., if they have symptoms of the disease). Such passengers will be allowed to travel to their final destination only after receiving the test results. If it is positive, they will be sent to a medical facility.
All passengers entering Turkey (except transit passengers and children under 6 years old) are required to complete an electronic questionnaire on the website of the Ministry of Health during the last 72 hours before arriving in Turkey. A completed questionnaire in printed or mobile form (on a smartphone screen) must be submitted when registering for a flight to Turkey.
