Tourist brand “Golden ring” will grow to 9 regions
Rosturizm signed with the governors of 9 regions of the country an agreement on the creation of a new interregional project “Big Golden Ring” of Russia.
The corresponding agreement was signed on June 3, 2021 by Rosturizm and regional governors within the framework of SPIEF.
The project includes areas bordering the Moscow agglomeration: Moscow, Vladimir, Ivanovo, Kaluga, Tula, Yaroslavl, Kostroma, Ryazan and Tver.
On the map, they closed the ring around the capital, repeating the principle of the famous tourist brand “Golden Ring”.
The project includes the development of a new network of interregional routes, the arrangement and creation of new tourist infrastructure facilities, the improvement of the transport network, partnership in the information promotion of tourism in all territories.
“A tourist throughout the route should have convenient logistics to the place of rest and the main points of display, a comfortable tourist environment and access to information about the route, unique points of attraction that complement each other, emphasizing the charisma of each region, which will allow the tourist to freely combine the length and duration of the trip around the capital,” the ministry said.
Attempts to expand the Golden Ring have been made before. The first statements about this were made by officials in 2017, and from January 2018, the Ministry of Culture of Russia began collecting applications from cities that want to enter the Golden Ring tourist route.
In 2018, the pool of cities of the Golden Ring (Sergiev Posad, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Rostov, Yaroslavl, Kostroma, Ivanovo, Suzdal and Vladimir) was the first of the “newcomers” to join Uglich. Tula, Borovsk, Tarusa, Kaluga applied for participation.
