Russian tour operators ready to sell tours to Iran

Iran is starting to receive Russian tourists. Since October 23, the issuance of tourist visas has resumed. For organized groups of tourists from 5 to 50 people, a visa is not required.

The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Moscow sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation an official letter from the Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Crafts of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mr. Ezatollah Zargami.

Entry to Iran is now allowed to all categories of tourists, and individual travelers will need a tourist visa, and tourists in organized groups of 5 to 50 people will not need a visa to Iran.

All passengers arriving in the country will be required to present a negative PCR test result valid for 96 hours. Children under 8 years of age are exempt from this requirement.

You can get to Iran by direct flights from Moscow to Tehran, which are operated twice a week by Aeroflot. The tariff is about 20 thousand rubles per person.

There is a connection route, for example through Turkey. But the cost in this case will be slightly higher - about 27 thousand rubles per person in one direction.

Tour operators estimate the chances of success of Iran among Russian tourists as good.

According to the general director of the tour operator Space Travel Arthur Muradyan, it is certainly premature to talk about a significant tourist flow to Iran. The country has not yet been appreciated by tourists from Russia and did not enjoy their great popularity before the pandemic.

However, a still small selection of foreign destinations could play into Iran’s hands and help it attract Russian travelers.

Excursion programs in Iran are among the most interesting in the East, they introduce tourists to the ancient Persian heritage.

Before the pandemic, the cost of a package tour to Iran was approximately 1100-1200 euros per person with double accommodation (with a flight).
