The growth of travel sales in Russia in the summer of 2023 in the first two months of the year amounted to 40-57%, tour operators consider such figures unprecedented.
The press service of the Russian Union of Travel Industry (PCT) noted: Booking organized summer travel in Russia by 40-50%, and some companies and 57% ahead of the same period last year. And this is despite the fact that last year there was a tourist cashback program, which, according to tour operators, was a powerful tool to stimulate demand.
"If such dynamics of bookings continues, according to the results of the kind of Russian resorts can take 8-10% more tourists than in 2022," the RST added.
Among the most popular are the routes to Sochi. AnapuKavminvoda, Gelendzhik. St. Petersburg and tuapse.
The exception was Crimea. Earlier, the union reported that in the Crimea due to the fall in tourist demand due to the lack of air traffic, travel agencies and accommodation facilities are closed. Representatives of the tourism industry are asking for state support.
The Ministry of Economic Development reports that in 2022 62 million people who spent the night in hotels traveled across Russia. This is 8% more than in 2021.
