Tourist flow to domestic resorts in May holidays became a record for the post-Soviet period
The Ministry of resorts and tourism of the Crimea reported that in comparison with 2019, the tourist flow to the region increased by more than 70%.
From April 29 to May 10 inclusive, 520,000 people rested in Crimea, which is 72% higher than in 2019.
As previously predicted by tour operators, the flow of tourists has significantly increased: for the first time, 75% of the total number of tourists arrived across the Crimean Bridge. The share of motorists this year is 19% more than in the same period of 2019. 20% of the guests arrived by air, 4% – by rail, less than 1% – through the Ukrainian border.
During the May holidays, tourists received about 700 officially registered accommodation facilities.
“The average load of working accommodation facilities exceeded 70%, in some regions this figure exceeded 80-85%. At the same time, five-star hotels on average were loaded by 95%, 4-star hotels - by 90%, 3 stars - by more than 75%, the Ministry of Resorts of Crimea said.
Krasnodar region also sets records.
In Sochi In early May, about 232,000 people rested. The peak of tourist flow fell on May 6, on this day in the city at a time there were 122 thousand guests. The volume of loading of accommodation facilities on holidays exceeded 82%. In 2019 at the same time in Sochi rested 150 thousand tourists.
