Tourists want to ask what to spend the resort fee

The authorities of the Krasnodar Territory announce that when choosing infrastructure facilities that will be financed by the resort fee, the wishes of tourists will be taken into account.

For this purpose, a survey of travelers will be organized. The statement about this on September 26 was made by Sergey Orlov, Deputy Chairman of the relevant Committee of the Legislative Assembly of the region.

“This will give a two-way effect – we will know what tourists are missing, and they will understand that their opinion is taken into account when distributing funds,” he said.

Participants in the tourism market reacted differently to this idea.

Some believe that the view of consumers of services will be useful. “I think this is a very reasonable measure, which obviously will help to make decisions more targeted and timely,” says Sergey Tolchin, sales director of NTC Intourist.

Other participants in the tourism market believe differently: the organization of such studies will entail additional costs from the budget, and whether they will give a tangible effect is not clear. And most importantly, finding out the opinion of non-professionals will be a global mistake.

Travelers can be based on subjective feelings, and direct market participants have facts and rely on an understanding of business processes. So in the end, the idea of polling tourists can only become part of PR – creating the appearance of public control over spending.

“The idea of feedback itself is certainly correct. Tourists can point to problem points, and this can be used to specify work. But whether it will be possible to balance their wishes with the amount that the resort fee will bring depends on the local authorities, says Sergey Romashkin, CEO of the tour operator Dolphin.
