Udmurtia, Tatarstan and Bashkiria cancel the QR code system

Radiy Khabirov, the head of the Republic of Bashkortostan, said on February 18: We are removing restrictions from shopping centers, markets, museums, theaters, cinemas, restaurants, fitness clubs, sanatoriums, hotels, beauty salons, etc. From tomorrow it will be possible to visit all these institutions and establishments without having to check the QR code.”

From Saturday without QR codes, it will be possible to attend mass events in the open air, while restrictions will continue to apply “indoors if there are 500 or more people in the hall.”

Khabirov explained the abolition of QR codes by achieving the “necessary threshold of herd immunity” in the republic.

Another argument in favor of abolishing QR codes is the issuance of QR codes from February 21 after the results of tests for antibodies to the coronavirus.

At the same time, we maintain the requirements to wear masks, measure the temperature at the entrance and comply with all sanitary and epidemiological standards.

In the autumn of 2021, the authorities of Bashkortostan introduced a QR code system for visiting mass events and most facilities.

The authorities of Tatarstan cancel the QR code system and a number of other restrictions from February 21, the Kazan mayor’s office said in its telegram channel on February 18.
