What is the danger of an all-inclusive system?

The all-inclusive system can bring unpleasant surprises. The wrong dish and the rest is ruined.

What products can you choose on the buffet so that you do not have to regret a purposeless vacation?

What you do not eat today, you will bring tomorrow – a common point of view. Its validity depends on the decency of cooks and hoteliers.

“It is forbidden to process uneaten dishes,” says G. Dubtsov, professor of the Department of Food Industry Technology at the Moscow University of Food Production. If anything remains, it must be disposed of.”

There is a rule in dining rooms: the menu is not repeated to prevent such situations, if today the cutlets, tomorrow the casserole.

On the buffet, repetitions are inevitable, the range of dishes is wider than in the canteens, and, according to the vice-president of the Federation of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers of Russia Vadim Prasov, “what is cooked for breakfast is eaten for breakfast.”

A lot of food to throw away is a stereotype. “It is not possible that everyone should be eaten without a remainder, but it should be minimal. It is a matter of correct assessment and experience.”

The Russian, who worked as a waiter in Turkey and Greece for several years, confirmed that uneaten salads are thrown away immediately. You can get yesterday's meat or fish, but we are talking about unclaimed and uncooked steaks or fillets that will go to the cutlets.

Care must be taken when approaching the buffet. You should avoid multi-part dishes, such as olive salad; snacks with mayonnaise and cream sauce quickly spoil in the heat.

Doctors recommend not to get carried away with fatty foods (causes indigestion) and seafood: excess protein is harmful to the body.

Sweet cocktails should be replaced with wine. Be wary of products that have not undergone heat treatment, such as sushi (fish in the heat quickly deteriorates).

According to Anastasia Asker, Candidate of Medical Sciences, you should not drink alcohol near the pool, leave food in the sun from bars and restaurants.

Another point is the open kitchen. “If all the proper conditions are met, then this is permissible, since dishes are made at high temperatures,” Dubtsov said.

Even seemingly healthy eating can lead to problems. "You should be careful about raw cottage cheese, it is better to choose cheesecakes, casseroles, and in general what is subjected to heat treatment," the expert says and warns against lingering sliced sausages and cheeses.

Fruits and vegetables can threaten health. Russian E. coli is different from Turkish and it often causes acute intestinal infections. Fruits can be eaten, but do not abuse them, said Alena Mangaltepe, a doctor at the clinic of the Mediterranean University.

Sanitation should come first! Large hotels ensure that there is no mass poisoning. Tourists should wash their hands with soap before eating, after the toilet, returning from the street.

Travelers should consider whether to choose this type of food. “All inclusive” is a limited menu that is not suitable for a full acquaintance with the local cuisine, says Irina Ryabovol, representative of the international tourist aggregator.

In Italy, France, Greece, you should prefer cafes and restaurants, even if it is more expensive.

Andrey Matyukh, the chef, says he chooses hotels only with breakfast. As an all-inclusive chef, I’m not interested, the system assumes mass. The exception is small boutique hotel rooms for fifteen.”
