Putin hopes to cooperate with airlines

Russian President Vladimir Putin hopes to receive proposals from domestic airlines on the development of interregional routes and the growth of the fleet of Russian aircraft.

“We will expand the list of direct interregional routes. Especially in remote and inaccessible northern territories: in Siberia and the Far East. It is important that the development of Russian airports takes place together with the increase in the fleet of domestic aircraft: high-quality, inexpensive, reliable in operation.

Minister of Transport Mikhail Sokolov believes that the development of regional aviation can become the main direction of the Federal Target Program for Transport Development for 2020-2030. The President approves the allocation of profitable routes to those who fly domestic aircraft. The Ministry of Transport is preparing proposals for the Federal Aviation Regulations - airlines will have to buy Russian-made aircraft - in their fleet there should be at least three domestically produced aircraft, age no older than five years.

Offers are evaluated differently by market participants, and, conversely, they can adversely affect the Russian passenger transportation market. For example, to cause unplanned expenses, and as a result - an increase in the cost of tickets. Or to increase the influence of Aeroflot, it currently uses the Russian SSJ-100, and its subsidiaries in the Russian aviation market - and so reduce competition.

The appeal of the authorities to representatives of the aviation market in the industry was accepted with the hope of a constructive dialogue – if the state asks the market to submit its ideas, it will listen to them. Much will depend on the possible activity of carriers and the availability of a platform for expressing wishes.

The delivery of the first domestic aircraft "Trunk aircraft of the XXI century" (MS-21) has been postponed.
