Russia plans to launch electronic visas for foreign tourists by the end of June.
Deputy Head of the Ministry of Economic Development Dmitry Vakhrukov at the International Economic Forum "Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum-2023" said: We expect to launch an electronic visa by the end of June. Iran is on the list of priority countries to which such a visa is available. Therefore, another affordable option for Iranian tourists is to obtain an electronic visa.
In 2020, a law was adopted in Russia, according to which from January 1, 2021, electronic visas for citizens of 52 countries, including the European Union, should begin to be issued online.
The document will allow you to enter the Russian Federation with a guest, business, tourist visit, as well as to participate in events, is valid for 60 days and is issued in 4 days.
In January 2021, the introduction of electronic visas was postponed due to the pandemic. In 2022, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs began modernizing the website for issuing visas. In March, the Ministry of Economic Development reported that electronic visas will work in 2023.
