Russia chooses the most beautiful villages
Rosselkhozbank and the Association of Beautiful Villages and Towns of Russia (ASKDR) are conducting an expedition, following which two settlements on the eastern shore of Baikal, Embassy and Hoyto-Gol, can enter the list of the most beautiful villages and towns of our country.
Magic Baikal is the fourth joint expedition of Rosselkhozbank and ASKDR. In the autumn of 2020, a trip to the North-West “Russian North 2.0”, in the spring of 2021 – “Origins of Russia”, in the summer – “Volga region”. The main mission of the expeditions is to show that the existing infrastructure of villages and small settlements gives the necessary conditions for tourism and permanent residence.
As specified, the Baikal route among other settlements included the village of Ambassador on the eastern shore of the lake and the village of Hoyto-Gol to the west of it.
The participants of the expedition will check the presence in these settlements of a full-fledged tourist infrastructure: places to accommodate guests, opportunities to provide them with food, etc. d
If the decision is positive, both villages will join the Russian – and world – list of the most beautiful villages and towns.
In the coming years after obtaining the status, the tourist flow increases by 2-5 times, which brings additional income to the town or village.
The Association is organized to develop rural settlements with a rich cultural and natural heritage, and create new jobs through the promotion of rural tourism and the support of traditional crafts.
