In Rosturizm told about the preparation of guides for Chinese tourists
Budget places for advanced training of guides-interpreters and guides, including those working with Chinese tourists, are distributed only among citizens of the Russian Federation, the Federal Agency for Tourism said.
It is noted that a number of media spread false information about the audience of the educational program for training guides for Chinese tourists.
“Budget places for training programs implemented by order of Rostourism, including for this program, are distributed only among citizens of the Russian Federation. Training foreigners at the expense of the federal budget is not provided, — stated in the message.
The department clarifies that the training program for guides and guides-interpreters working with Chinese tourists is being implemented in accordance with an additional agreement to the state contract that expands the number of hours for training and specifies the content of the program and the requirements for students. Only Russians can attend this and all other programs.
“The program is aimed at replacing the shortage of guides and guides-interpreters trained to work with Chinese tourists, qualified specialists from among the citizens of the Russian Federation and to curb the practice of servicing tourist groups from the PRC by poorly trained and working illegally “gray” migrant guides who provide excursion services of inadequate quality, damage the image of Russia as a tourist destination and the country’s economy,” the ministry said.
Acting rector of the State University of Management Vladimir Stroev agreed that it is impossible to ignore the problem with illegal Chinese guides now. “Budget places for study are provided exclusively to Russian citizens. Our task is to provide high quality tourist services and give jobs to Russians. The Federal Agency for Tourism and the State University of Management strictly monitor compliance with this requirement, he assured.
According to Stroev, the program is aimed at training specialists without work experience, where the key requirements are Russian citizenship, secondary vocational or higher education and knowledge of the Chinese language. Candidates for training can also be senior students.
