In Switzerland, testing of payment for train tickets after travel
In Switzerland, testing of payment for railway tickets after a trip with the help of a mobile application has begun. Tourists can take part in the experiment, but this requires an iPhone that can use mobile Internet in Switzerland. In addition, the service, called Lezzgo, is currently only available in German and French.
The service will work as follows: before the trip, the passenger notes its beginning in the application, and after the trip, notes its end in the application. During the journey, you can make transfers - they can not be noted, if this does not happen trip in the opposite direction. The move can also include urban and suburban transport (except for lake ships). The application will summarize all the trips marked there for the day and debit the required amount from the passenger's bank card, calculating the most profitable tariff from among the standard ones.
Participants of the experiment should understand that the application is not available discounted pre-tariffs (they are cheaper in Switzerland than usual by several times), tariffs of various multi-day passes, including Swiss Travel Pass and InterRail, city and suburban travel and other special rates or surcharges. The app now works with standard fares, day passes, and a permanent Halbtax-Abo discount card. The app is currently only available on iOs.
When checking tickets, the controller must make sure that the passenger marked the beginning of the trip in the application, otherwise the passenger faces a fine. Therefore, the mobile phone should be on all the time, with affordable geo-positioning. Earlier, similar testing within urban and suburban routes began in Bern - also in the Lezzgo app.
