The entry of foreign tourists to the Far East will be simplified
Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed to simplify the conditions for the entry of foreign tourists to the regions of the Far East.
The corresponding list of instructions was published on the Kremlin website on November 9, following the presentation of the results of the development of the Far East and a meeting with the moderators of the sessions of the Eastern Economic Forum (WEF-2024).
The Russian government and relevant agencies were instructed to study the possibility of simplifying the process of issuing electronic visas for foreign citizens wishing to visit the Far Eastern Federal District for tourist purposes until April 15, 2025.
At the same time, the Maritime Board of the Russian Federation should consider expanding the access of foreign tourist ships to the seaports of the Far East.
Since the beginning of 2024, Primorsky Krai has been visited by more than 370 thousand foreign tourists, who made about 500 thousand trips. In particular, 2.7 thousand people arrived from Japan in Primorye, 3,5 thousand from South Korea, and 5.7 thousand tourists from the DPRK. Among the guests of the region were also tourists from the United States and Canada.
