Grand Mosque of Niamey
Niamey is the capital of Niger.
Description:
The Grand Mosque is located in the capital of Niger, in the city of Niamey, on the banks of the famous deep-water river, which is called Niger. The mosque is one of the largest attractions known around the world and is the main attraction of its city.
The Great Mosque was built in the XX century. Residents are proud of their mosque because of its accessibility. Despite the fact that most of the countries of Africa are inhabited by residents of Islam and, of course, a significant part of the temples here are Muslim, but many of them can visit not only men but also women. Moreover, women are allowed to visit the central hall of the mosque, which is simply unacceptable in other countries where tourists come from.
Of course, that wasn't always the case. The city, long known for its artisans, especially tanners and jewelers, in the middle of the last century was on the verge of extinction. The reason for this was a terrible drought. It was then that all the inhabitants of the city were allowed to pray in one temple in order to jointly escape from such a terrible scourge. Therefore, it is always public, even strict and faithful Muslim men, with kindness and understanding look at the women visiting the temple.
