Laguna Tiscapa Nature Reserve

Nicaragua, Managua

Description:

Not always in the city, visitors can enjoy the beauty and purity of nature. But, traveling around Managua, they are offered a visit to the most beautiful lagoon of Tiscap. This is what is a natural reserve.

On October 31, 1991, the Nicaraguan government designated the Laguna as a nature reserve. This area is protected around the clock by the Ministry of Environmental Protection. No wonder all tourists are invited to visit the Laguna, as it is the main attraction in Managua.

It is believed that this reserve was formed more than a thousand years ago due to strong volcanic activity. During the 1972 earthquake, many buildings collapsed. Some of them have been reconstructed. The place of the palace currently occupies a beautiful historical park.

There are many ruins left for visitors to explore. There are restaurants and a couple of shops in Tiscap Laguna. Some lovers of flora and fauna have the opportunity to go on a tour Tiscap Kanopi, and enjoy the vast expanses of wonderful and beautiful nature. A huge steel cable is located at an altitude of seventy meters above the surface of the earth, along which, together with a guide, tourists can slide and admire the splendor of the volcanic crater.
