A trip to the Folgefonna Glacier

Description:

The entire Folgefonna National Park is a breathtaking landscape. The most important of which is the Folgefonna Glacier, for the protection of which, in fact, this national park was created.
Of the entire tourist route, however, not only the endpoint is a value. Departing from Bergen at 9 am you can have time to visit many mountains, lakes and waterfalls, including the legendary Hardangerfjord. To make sure that the trip is not in vain, you should definitely stop at the waterfalls Fossen Bratte, which is also known as “Fata Bride”, and Steinsdalsfossen. Fans of thrills do not deny themselves the pleasure of even passing under the stream of Steinsdalsfossen. On the way from the waterfalls to the glacier lies the town of Norheimsund, where you can stop and relax for a while, and after that you can safely cross the Hardangerfjord by ferry. It is here that tourists arrive in the cozy town of Yundal, from which the most exciting part of the journey begins - the road leading to the glacier. Naturally, for tourists there is an opportunity to take a little rest after climbing, so there is a cafe right next to the glacier. You can usually be there by 12 o’clock in the morning, if you do not admire the countless mountains and lakes that will meet along the way. Only professionals can climb the glacier, and ordinary tourists are limited to traveling there and back, so you can be in Bergen at 16.00.
