Monument to Amalia Scrum

Description:

Amalia Skram is a Norwegian writer who gave not only her people, but also the world a number of bold works. Her novels caused a serious public outcry due to the involvement of such topics as the relationship of the mentally ill with the rest of the people in the text “St. Jorgen’s Hospital” and the problems of the relationship of family members among themselves in the works “Fru Inae” and “People from Hellemur”.

This woman was born in the Norwegian city of Bergen, but as a writer she proved herself only after moving to Copenhagen. Her monument was erected in her hometown near King Olaf V Square. To get to this monument, it is enough to walk along Kaigaten Street directly from the Bergen station to the exit to the square; then turn left and walk along one of the two streets, I think by this point you will be hungry, so there will be wonderful cafes waiting for you, and in the transition between them you will find this wonderful monument to a wonderful woman.
