Viking Ship Museum
About the company:
Norway is a country with a centuries-old history, and those who visit it are primarily eager to learn a little about the Vikings. A lot of information is stored in the Viking Ship Museum near Oslo.
The museum is built cross-shaped with white walls and a red tiled roof. Since 1926, the most famous Viking ships have been exhibited in the building. In the exposition of the museum there are three ships built in the IX century: Tuna, Gokstad and Oseberg ships.
Oseberg ship measuring 22 m in size and 5 m in width was found near the town of Oseberg. Considered the easiest. Gokstad is 2 m longer and much stronger, which allowed the Vikings to cross the oceans. The Tuna ship, unfortunately, is represented only by fragments.
Watching numerous paintings and carvings on boats, one can only guess about the glorious history of their owners.
