We begin our tour with the Sultan Qabooz Main Mosque, a magnificent architectural complex. Its architecture and interior decoration are unique to such an extent that you will not find it anywhere in the Middle East.
After visiting the mosque, we will head to the delightful area of Muscat called Matra. There are two points of interest here. The Matra Bazaar provides a wide range of shops of gold, silver, spices, pashmina, hookahs, old weapons, fabrics and old trinkets. A few hours will not be enough for you to fully discover all the secrets of the narrow labyrinths of this unique local market.
Matra fish bazaar will provide us with a wide range of seafood and we will spend our time here with unforgettable pleasure.
Our next stop is the old Muscat area, where we will walk in front of the Al Alam Palace, the residence of Sultan Qabooz, with its fabulous towers crowned with gold and blue domes; touch the ancient history of the ancient forts of Mirani and Jalali.
Al Zubeir Museum is located in old Muscat and will bring to our attention an outstanding collection in which traditional antique weapons, Omani dress, jewelry and household items are mixed with modern and traditional art.
